Excel not updating into inventor

I have an excel file (GlobalVars.xlsx) which is refenced by many parts and one assembly in a master assembly. When I make changes to the excel file (and save and close), I do not get the option to update in inventor. If I delete the file in one part and re-link it, that part updates. Or if I close inventor and open it again everything updates. What can I do, so that I don't have to close inventor every time I make a change?

Hi

 

This might be a known behaviour.

Are you using 2011 ? If yes could you please install SP1 and SP2.
