Evenly space points on an ellipse

I need to evenly space points along a drawing of an ellipse, and I can not seem to figure out how to do this.

I would greatly appreiciate any feedback. I have been trying to do this simple task for far too long.

Thanks,

Rachel

Rectangular Pattern of Work Points (not sketch points) you can then Project Geometry in a new sketch if you need sketch points for some reason.  Which brings up the question, "Why do you need this pattern of points?"

I need the sketch points to create holes.

I am designing a chandilier. Multiple crystals form a floating "egg" shape. I am trying to place the holes on the laser cut piece to hang the crystals from. I have attatched a screenshot of the sketch I am working on.

I am not sure I understand your explanation clearly.

Hi rachelbussin,

Create one point in your sketch, and then create the first hole. Then use the Rectangular Pattern tool to pattern the Hole feature, employing the curve driven pattern as JDMather's suggests.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

WOW.

Can not believe it was that simple.

I just always assumed the rectangular pattern feature was for rectangles.
