Eco Materials Advisor, will not connect!

Cannot connect to the gateway of the eco materials advisor. contacted granta they told me it may be my company firewall, spoke to my ID dept and they tell me its not firewalled.  Tried to download upgrade package with hope that will solve problem, will not download due an existing file on my pc, cant find that one either!

Just download the 64 bit update a couple of minutes ago without any problems.

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Hi

In Eco Materials Adviser Settings, could you please chack if the Connection Settings are filled.

Then check with your IT Department if you are using a Proxy Connection and then fill in the Proxy Setting correctly.

Is it working better ?

Hi Steve,

I contacted Granta support to ask them to follow up with you but I'm not sure that they have your contact information (the name they had was different than yours).   Would you please send me e-mail at alison<DOT>davis<AT>autodesk<DOT>com?

Regards,

Alison

If you are using a proxy, then I would advise you to try these steps with IT Department :

1)      Use the EMA settings page to enter proxy credentials and then Save these to the EMA configuration file

2)      Close Inventor

3)      Open the EMA configuration file in a text editor. The location of the file will be installation and OS specific. For me it can be found at: C:\Users\nic.austin\AppData\Local\GrantaGateway\config\GatewayConfig.xml

4)      In the <config:ProxySettings> tag, enter the proxy address and port number in the appropriate elements

5)      In the <config:Service> tag, set the useProxy attribute to “true”

6)      Save the config file

7)      Restart Inventor

Please mark it as solution if this solves your issue.

Hi everybody,

I spoke to Granta support directly and they have resolved the original poster's issue.  Although the solution involved editing a configuration file they do not recommend that procedure without guidance.   If you have issues connecting to the EMA server, please contact Granta support.  There is a link on the EMA help page to contact Granta or visit http://www.grantadesign.com/contact/.

Regards,

Alison Davis
