have seen something similar. Inventor with its segmented database doesn't
appreciate network issues. We however usually see some message about trying to
save an unamed part or some such thing. The ipt files save and the assembly
just doesn't. If we check our switch ports they do show errors, but not very
many. I'm not a network guru but apparently it is quite normal if you monitor
you switch port to find occaisional dropped packets. If this gets excessive
