Design View Question

I use design views mainly to control what I see in my 2D drawing views. This is my procedure when creating them:

1) Open model and create the new view
2) Turn off what I don't want to see
3) Lock the view
4) Open IDW and apply the design view to a particular view

My question is, sometimes if I add a part to my assembly, it will appear in the 2D view, even though the design view I created is locked. So, I have to right click on the view and re-apply the design view, and it will go away. Is there a way that the IDW will always match the design view without me having to keep applying the design view every time I add a part? Thanks!

after step 4, are you making the design view associative?

No, I'm not making it associated. Should I be? Will that give me what I want? Thanks Josh.

if you make the drawing view associative with the design view, then the drawing view will alway update itself to look like the design view. I think this will solve your problem.
