Question from customer:
Is it possible to use a user selectable browser for all related functions?
I'd like to see the possibilty to select with which webbrowser Inventor interacts.
Currently the wikihelp opens in my default browser (Google Chrome), but the help function and subscription links open in Internet Explorer.
The supported web browsers for Inventor are Internet Explorer 6.x to 8.
This is mentioned in the system requirements.
So, it is not possible nor supported to change browser to an unsupported browser for specific Inventor functions.
If you want an unique browser for all Inventor function you have to set the IE as default browser.
Thanks
During deployment last night why did the loader for the "Suite Ultimate" require us to update the stations, still using IE7 to IE8 to allow us to finish loading, if as you say that 6x to 8 is required. Something fishy here. This seams to tell me that IE8 is required.

I know this is an old post, but it's a new year...
When will Autodesk consolidate the internet browsers we use? On the one end they push Autodesk Cloud via Subscription (as a benefit), but then you learn that the system requirements is out of sync with Inventor's (see below):
To work with most documents, use the following browsers:
To view DWF files in Autodesk Cloud, use these browsers:
Surely we should be able to use one browser, but at the moment I have to jump between Chrome and IE9. Can't Autodesk at least support another browser as opposed to IE only?
Also, HTML design reports from Inventor cannot be viewed in anything except IE. So if I send, for example, a Gear Generator report to someone who uses a Mac, they can't read the report. If that person is on Win, and they use Firefox, Chrome or Opera, they also cannot read it. Then there are tablets (iOS and Android ones), most of them WebKit browsers, like Chrome/Safari...
Come on Autodesk, sort this out, please.
