Make a workplane tangent to cyl (click on workplane
tool, select a plan parallel to the one you want, click on cyl's
surface)

Start a new sketch on the tangent
plane

Insert an image (BMP, DOC, XLS) from
the sketch panel bar

Exit Sketch

Issue Decal command

Pick image, then pick cylinder surface as the
face

Check wrap to face

Hit OK

Forgot to add that you can constraint the decal in
space by using projected geometry, constraints and dimensions...

In the same vein - has anyone succeeded in applying
a decal to an elliptical section column - can't make it work this end IV6
SP1

Accurately and reliably calculating the circumference if an ellipse isn't
trivial. We decided to defer wrapping decals to ellipses rather than have
poor quality.
