Date Format

Is there any way to change the default date format in the iproperties project tab from a number format (26/01/110 to a mixed format (26-Jan-11 or Jan 26/11)?

Date and time confiurations are controlled by Windows, not Inventor. Change it in Windows,.

AFAIK, no, unless the format is available in Windows.

I believe the date format matches whatever windows is set to use.  If you can set windows to use that format then yes, of course it changes for all programs then.  Open control panel and look at your regional settings to see what they have available.
