Cutting between 2 part files

Im building a bracelet, and I built the bottom and top half in 2 files. After assembling them and putting on my pivot point I wanted to use the shape of the tip from the top half to make a matching depression in the bottom half. I have no idea how to accomplish this. Any help for a newbie would be great.

Edit the part to be cut within the context of the assembly.

Copy Object the surfaces from the cutting part into the part to be cut.

Sculpt to cut the part.

Attach your assembly here if you can't figure it out.

Could you give me a click by click on this procedure? I'm still learning and am not familiar with many procedures.

This topic has been covered here many times in the past - a search might turn up examples.

If not, attach a simple assembly for demonstration purposes (which is the same thing I would have to do).

As it stands now, I don't even know what version of Inventor you are using.
