I have loaded some of my custom frame generator shapes into Inventor using the structural shapes authoring tool. Since my shapes are strictly extrusions that don't change dimension other than their length I was wondering when I go to insert a frame member into an assembly that the following can be deafaults:
Size: Please select a member... Can this default to the one Size or Shape that I have under this family?
Material Style: Default Can there be a Default Material Style? The material is always going to be Brass.
Color Style: As Material Same goes for this. Can there be a Default Material Style so I don't need select
one each time?
See attached:
The answer is yes if when you publish the part the material is set to your desired material default like Aluminum or steel. The color style at that point could stay default and it will take on the material color style. You may need to remove the ones you pubished earlier so you can publish the newer ones with a material.
You can also add a key for the material and have only the materials you may use also. This all depend on your master file that you publish from. In most case a iPart with the variations and keying the values you need to change works out best.
Great. What about the Member issue? Is there a way that I don't have to choose a member or it can default to one?
