All of a sudden I am getting marketing materials for Creo Parametric.
Anyone familiar with them?
As I am off subscriptioin and pretty soon my software will no longer be supported, so I am kind of looking around.

Yep,
That's what has become of Pro/E.

Pro/E is no more, it is now Creo. I assume it's their attempt to break away from the "Pro/E" stigma and hopefully find a buyer in order to save them (Pro/E has been up for sale for over 2 yrs now).
I honestly somewhat expected to see ADesk buy them up.
It's just ProE renamed with a new interface. The last time I looked at it the price got quite high by the time you get all the modules. If you are looking around then consider solidedge. I am looking into it now. The way they have combined history based and direct editing is impressive.
OK, I have to laugh at this from the Creo site:
Creo Parametric is the standard in 3D CAD, featuring state-of-the-art productivity tools that promote best practices in design while ensuring compliance with your industry and company standards.
"the standard in 3D CAD"? Really? The "Standard"? Pretty amazing to be the "standard" after only being on the market such a short time. Is this the same marketing team that came up with the Barney the Dinosaur campaign years ago where they claimed Barney was the most beloved childrens character around the world months before it even hit the stores? (Sorry, if you ever took a marketing class, you'd get that reference - it's a classic marketing story).
Anyways, I wonder if the SWx people are aware that Creo is claiming to be the "standard" these days?
I wonder if Creo can butter my toast in the morning as well as SWx claims to.
as noted Creo is the renamed Pro/E now with a Ribbon Interface.
I expected that it was going to be quite different than the old Wildfire, but other than the Ribbon Interface it isn't all that different. After you click a tool - it is pretty much the same familiar Pro/E interface.
Speaking of marketing "genius" - a Google search on CREO turned up this -
