Count Parts in an Assembly

How do you count the number of parts in an assembly? I have a large assembly with many nested sub-assemblies and would like to fins out the total number of parts (unique and number of occurrences). When I use the BOM command on the Tools menu, it only shows the top level assembly and subassemblies, none of the constiuent parts. Is there a right click somewhere to get basic assembly statistics like this?

Create a BOM with the "Parts Only" option instead
of the "Top Level Components" option.

Where are these options? Do I need to be in a drawing of the assembly or can I be in the Assembly environment?

You need to do it in a IDW file.
