Copy face features to new part files

Hi
Can anyone tell me the best way to copy and or offset faces (such as
sheet metal part), onto new parts to be used to make the form of that part.
Also is it possible to copy just the faces of dumb solids to make face of a
new inventor part without having to redraw the whole shape.
I get alot of .sat and .stp. part files from my customers and I don't
want to redraw each form.
Thanks
Rick Hamlin

Start a new part and project the face from the other part. If you have Associative
Edge/Loop turned on it will be adaptive, but most people use this very sparingly or just
turn it off, since it will eventually slow a assembly way down and cause problems if you
delete geometry etc.
