First we imported an ".igs" file to inventor, which produced "wires". Then by promoting the wires it produced a 3-d sketch.
The model is in one plane and 2-D, and we are trying to use Ansys 2-D analysis, but in-order to do so it needs to be in a 2-D sketch.
The model is too large to be redrawn on a 2-D plane, does anyone know how to convert it to a 2-D sketch
Hi,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
But currently there is not a direct solution. The only workaround I can see here is to create a new 2D sketch and project the 3D curves to 2D.
I will pass on this requirements to our development team too.
Hi,
May you please share me a sample to let me have a try?

Hello Austin,
Thanks for sharing the procedure.
But the problem is , if we want to reuse it to create solid extrude or revolve, we are unable to do the same.
Please let me know, how we can fix this issue
