Convert surface to solid model or turn off yellow edges in surface model

First off, I am not a surface modeling guru. We received a surface model from a vendor that I have patched up as best I can, it still has one hole that I can find that I haven't been able to fill. Ideally we would like to have a solid model, but I'm running out of time to get this done and the surface model we have would be good enough for our purposes IF I can get the yellow surface tangent lines to turn off or change their color to black. I've attached a jpg of the surface model with the yellow lines and uploaded the model here: http://discussion.autodesk.com/adskcsp/thread.jspa?threadID=648171.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

That is the same link you posted previously.
You mean they sent you and Inventor 2008 file as surfaces?
I was expecting the original file to be a STEP or IGES.

They are not yellow if you have a solid.

Just go to Application Options>Display> and uncheck edges for active
parts....

Oops... misread your post. Sorry. The part I am trying to convert came as part of an assembly that I cannot post here. I've attached a .ipt that is generationally as far back as I can get. If you send me an email offline and shawnmann@kolbergpioneer.com I will send you the original step file of the entire assembly. The part that is attached is part of a chain for a track piece of equipment.

Looks like you got it to work, what did you do?

That did the trick but it turned them all off (of course), not really what I wanted.... Thanks though.... looks like JD might have it converted to a solid...

Posting the link: for those who search for this solution......

If your model does not get converted as shown, in the you tube link, then you have to convert igs file to surface by using "Copy Object" and then you have to use "Stitch" Option......

What is useless?  More information is needed?
You have posted to an ancient thread (that was dug up by someone else).

Perhaps this is what you are after

Sometimes when someone digs up an old thread like this with a "new solution" they are trying to sell you their product.

Then that is what you should have written.

The link is broken.  I have no control over what other websites do with their hyperlinks.

I posted a direct link to the written information (without video).  The original link was a recording from Autodesk University over which I had no control.

I haven't checked, but the AU presentation might be avialable here http://www.augi.com

Broken link on an ancient thread. I apologize for the misunderstanding
then. My mistake.

But your previous replies to Shawnmann were useless. The broken link was
the last straw for me. You didn't even answer his question. Shawnmann
uploaded a model, you asked him to upload it again. He wants to know how to
convert the surface to a solid, you tell him the tangent lines aren't
yellow. And then the broken link.
