Content Library Installation problem

Just installed IV5.3 on my home computer (along with SP1 & 2). Trying to
install the Content Library - Windows Installer window pops up saying "The
feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is
not available. Insert the 'Redspark Standard Parts' disk and click OK.
There is a "Use Feature From" dropdown window that has only one choice
([Product Name] Label). The browse button does not work.

If I click OK, another Windows Installer window pops up with the yellow
triangle-exclamation point symbol saying "The path cannot be found. Verify
that you have access to this location and try again .... blah, blah, blah.

I've run IV5.3 on this machine before (Windows 98 unfortunately) and had no
trouble installing the content library.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mark

Sounds kind of like how R6 acts when the R5.3 library is installed. Go to
the Add/Remove programs dialog and see if you maybe never uninstalled the
Content library from the last time you had it on this machine.

Content library is not appearing in the Add/Remove dialog. It may not have
been uninstalled properly previously, but I don't see it listed anywhere in
my system during a "find". Could it still be somewhere in the registry?

Might try uninstalling 5.3 and then deleting the Inventor registry keys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion5.2
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion5.2

Sounds like that might be the right solution (hopefully!). I'll give it a
go when I get home tonight. Thanks Sean!

OK - here's what I did:
Uninstalled IV5.3. Rebooted. Backed up registry. Deleted ALL Inventor
folders in the registry. Exited regedit and rebooted. Used the IV5 disk to
uninstall IV5 remnants (control panel uninstaller listed IV5 but could not
uninstall from there). Uninstalled Redspark library.
Reinstalled IV5.3, Content Library, Fastener Library - voila! Everybody's
happy! 🙂
