Content Center and adding a shoulder bolt size that wasn't there before.

Hello,

I'm trying to add a screw to the content center table that was never there before and I don't know where to get all of the information that the table requires.

I'm trying to add a 1/8" x 1/2" lg. Shoulder bolt (#4-40 thd.).

Can anyone help? Usually I copy the existing row and just change what I need to (Shank Dia, Length, etc...)

This being a new screw I'm at a loss for the info.

Thanks,

Loon

If all you need is a smaller size, then you can use the copy/modify process you're already familiar with. If you want to create a new Family for the smaller sizes, you can use a copy of a Standard library and modify it. Be sure that you have all the colums set as visible in the family table so you can see all the values that need to be changed.

If you need something entirely different, you'll want to Author/Publish yourcustom part.

Ok, So I've added the screw I needed to the CC thru the CC Editor.

Now when I "Place from CC", pick the screw, place it in the assembly and check the iproperties it says, " Copy of ANSI B18.3 - 4-40 UNC - 0.66(18).ipt".

Copy of?

The other screws do not say "Copy of". What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

Duh! I had custom checked!

I was looking for the info to put into the "Copied" row of the existing CC family.

I found it in the Engineering handbook.
