Content Center Issues Vault Checkout of Components Required

One of my users is having an interesting error with Inventor R2009 when trying to use the Content Center.
1. Opens Content Center
2. Finds the type Fastener he needs
3. Selects the size of the fastener (1/4-20 X 1.00" SHCS)
4. Adds the fastener to the model.
5. Inventor then prompts that the fastener needs to be checked out of the vault. Yes or No

If the user selects "No" then Inventor cancels out the Content Center.
If the user selects "yes" then Inventor inserts the fastener and the user has to undo the checkout

What is causing this?
How can this checkout process be avoided? Edited by: panzilte@westinghouse.com on Apr 21, 2009 8:33 AM

I don't have any insight into this issue, but
thought you  might have better luck at the Vault newsgroup -

Hi,

When you use a vault project, and the Content files have been checked into vault. Two cases will pop up this dialog:

1. When the Content Center files have been edited, so that the version of the CC files is new than Vault. When place it from CC, the checked out dialog will pops up and upgrade it to the new version. -> If this is the case, please check out CC files and update it to the latest version.

2. When the Content Center files's version is same with Vault, but there have no Content files in your local disk: when place it from CC, the checked out dialog will pops up to create a new version on your local disk. -> If this is the case, please download the files from vault explorer firstly to your local disk, then place from CC cannot pops up the dialog.

Hope this can help you.

Thanks,

Shadow

This is an old post.  Are you still working with Inventor 2009?  If so, are you still having the same problem?
