Constraing a ping pong ball along a parabolic path

I am trying to animate the movement of a ball along a parabolis path as though the pall were tossed up. I can create a parabolic path on another part. I can create a ball. But I can not connect the ball's center to the path. If I could, I would control the motion with an angle constraint. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Do you have Inventor Professional with Dynamic Simulation?

2D or 3D Contact Joint.

or

add appropriate forces

I do have dynamic simulation, but have never used it. I was able to make a tangent constraint between the sphere and the cone. But can't get an angle constraint to drive it.
