Common Face Display Between Multiple Parts

I guess this is a wish list item of mine. I'm
wondering if anyone else sees value in this. I have two parts (partA is blue,
partB is red) that are slightly different and want to show the
differences/similarities for processing purposes. I have placed the parts
at the same xyz (interfering with eachother). It would be really handy if
all surfaces common to partA and partB displayed as a unique
colour rather than this criss-crossed mess.

You see the same thing if you have a thin sheet (like a sheet metal skin)
and there are large parts mated to the back side. You actually see the
outlines of the parts that are behind this skin. Really detracts from the
aesthetic value.

You can make a derived part of this then subtract A from B to see the
differences.

Sean,

This would be a workaround for me if both my parts weren't close to 40MB
each 🙂

In this case it would take me forever to perform the subtraction with the
amount of detail in these parts. Maybe for the upcoming long weekend, I'll
hit the button and take off.

Regardless, I would still like to see them do something constructive in
place of that criss-cross pattern.

Thanks,
Andrew
