I have made one part out of 4 different sections. And now I'm trying to combine it into one solid. My thought process was: if I make a derived part out of them it'll automatically make it a solid part. But I'm still having separate surfaces where two should have been united.
What is the procedure for getting this accomplished.
Thank You
William
See attached screens.
Seems like I'm doing the same thing. The joint in blue circle joined like it shout, but in red stayed as 2 separate surfaces.

Try Delete Face with Heal and select the two faces.
Are you sure both of those faces are the same?
That is odd...could you post the part maybe? I have to run out for a bit, but if no one else has looked I will take a look after lunch...
Good luck
Tony
I'm using 2012. The part is a bit sensitive to post ipt's. But at least I know I was on the right track creating the part.
The spiral was created as a 36-section loft, so it could be that one of the surfaces is not a perfect geometric shape. I'm thinking that 2 surfaces that meet are good, but the ID of the spiral is not a perfect circle.
Let me play around with geometry and "healing" surfaces.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for validating my technique.
