Changing scale format from 1/4 to 1:2.... if that makes any sense?

I'm using Autodesk Inventor 2013, and any drawing sheets I do on it must be manually changed to use ANSI (mm) format.

The problem is that even though the measurements have changed to mm instead of inches, the scale system has not.

the scale ratio is displayed as 1/4 instead of 1:2 ratio.

How do I change the scale ratio to 1:2 format?

I'm away from my computer at the moment,  but If I remember correctly, you can set the default scale choices in the drawing styles.   Just replace all the 1/4, 1/2 etc. with 1:4, 1:2, etc...

First off 1/4 does not equal 1:2. 1:2 is 1/2 and 1/4 is 1:4. All you're changing is the / symbol for the : symbol. Having said that, there is no metric or inch version. Scale is not a measurement, it's a ratio and is therefore inherently unitless. Which symbol gets displayed in the view label depends on which symbol you used to express the view scale in the first place. If you type 1/2 it will show 1/2 in the label. If you type 1:2 it will show 1:2.
