Changing Bend Note (UP/DOWN) to local language like (OBEN/UNTEN)?

Hi dear all;
How can we change bending note (UP/DOWN) to local language in Inventor 2010? For example I want to change it in German (OBEN/UNTEN)?

It's seems that variable but I could not find it?

Kind regards
Mucip:)

The bend notes are controlled in IDW Styles ( se attached image). The Bend
Direction (Up/Down) a variable called . It would have been my
assubmption that the program localization (German) would have covered this.
I would report this to your reseller as a possible bug.

Not everything can be changed in Inventor. And you didn't say if you were using the german version either...

As Dennis stated it would probably be in German if you were using the German version.. Since your in English it's in English. There is no where to change that variable in styles or anything.

I find it a bit short-sighted on Autodesk's part
for this to not be modifiable.  If every company in the world only produced
drawings for companies in their same country, there'd be no
problem.

This isn't much different from the fact that
Inventor uses the date format as it is specified in Window's Regional and
Language Options.  Almost everyone uses dd/mm/yyyy; we in the US, for
whatever unknown reason choose to be different, and usually use
mm/dd/yyyy.  So suppose it's July 8, 2009 when you complete a drawing,
and the job you're currently working on is going to Germany.  You can
change the language in Windows, and Inventor will correctly show the date as
"8/7/2009".  Then, after the job's done, you change your language back to
US English, and you open the drawing again, just to discover that the date is
now displayed as "7/8/2009".  Conversely, any cell representing a date in
Excel can be formatted individually.

The date format, bend note lexicals such as
<DIR>, etc. should all be options at the drawing level (i.e., should be in
a "Language Settings" tab in Tools -> Drawing Options).

Agreed this is nessacary, I bought this up in the
beta for the first release that had bend notes, so I know its on the official
wishlist somewhere, but possibly a lower priority.

We are english, our staff speak english, but they
hate the term "up" and "down" on the factory floor, simple as that. Why? because
for the last 25 years in Autocad someonw has been manually typing "away" and
"towards" now we release nice parametric drawing notes saying up and
down.

Guess who gets blamed every single time the factory
folds a part the wrong direction?

I'm not saying thats right, I just sayin it
is........ And would like to have a way to address this other than "Sorry our
software cannot do that, deal with it"

Brian

I have been wondering this same issue lately. After I put bend note to flat pattern I must every time change UP/DOWN information to other language. In addition to extra typing this makes it possible to make mistakes and breaks link between bend note and model. Is it really true that this is the case even nowadays? Does anyone have information on this? Thanks.

Hi hannukii,

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any update or change concerning this issue.

You might visit this link and give this IdeaStation idea a "kudo" to show your support for this improvement idea:

I hope this helps.

Hasn't it been solved yet?! I'd like to change these words in Inventor 2011 (english version) to Hungarian. Is it possible now?

Thanks,

Autodesk should just put all language files into an easily editable text file like internet developers do..
