Change Imported Model Origin

Hi All,

Any way to change the model origin of a imported models (Catia V5).

We must use customer origin for many reasons. Any Idea?

Hi! If I understand your request correctly, you are trying to move the imported geometry from one place to another. In an ipt file, you can use Move Bodies command in Modify section to relocate the selected bodies to a new position.

If you are trying to move components in an assembly, you can go to the browser -> right-click on the component of interest -> iProperties -> Occurrence -> modify the XYZ offsets.

Thanks!

Hi MariaManuela,

Here's a link to a method that uses the Move Body tool as johnsonshiue mentioned, but also shows how to find the exact coordinates needed to move. I've used this method successfully in the past for a number of imported components,  but of course you might find exceptions where this might not work perfectly:

I hope this helps.

Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
