Cannot "un-slice" the model in my ipt file

Hi all

Hope you can help with this. I am a relative new Inventor user and have a problem with a part file that seems to be permanently sliced, or sectioned.

I am not even sure how this happened. Even when I add a new solid to the drawing this part is sectioned.

How do I turn this off?

Please help.

Maia

Hi! Go to View menu -> click on Section View dropdown -> End Section View.

Thanks!

Hi

"A picture is worth a thousand words"

Click on View Tab, change view to "End Section View"

Thanks guys

Unfotunately it is not as easy as that. For a singl part it doesn't have a section view pull down. Also the Slice Graphic icon is not active. Please see attached.

Any other possibilities/ suggestions?

Regards

Been a while since I worked on 2011.

I am not sure where to go.

Give this a try.

Just below the "Two Lights" button is a small expansion arrow. Click on that and see if there are additional features available.

It sounds like Section Analysis is on.

Go to the inspect tab > Section as shown in the attached image.

Alternatively, look at the top of the model browser for a cross section as shown. Again, shown in the attached image.

No there are no extra features available when I click the expansion arrow. the only thing there is the "Transperancy" feature which is not active.

Rory, the Section analysis is not on. There is nothing in the browser.

More than anything this is a pain because I can edit it in the assembly and the  part is "whole" again. The idw file is fine, it is just the ipt file.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm sure there is someone out there who can figure it out.

Hi! I don't understand this behavior. Could you attach the file here or send it to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com)?

Thanks!

Hi! I took a look at the part. It seems that the slice graphics is enabled when Sketch22 was edited. Simply edit the sketch and press F7 (or right-click and select Slice Graphics option).

Thanks!
