Cannot modify the library file..?

Well, after owning Inventor 5.3 and now 6 I am finally going to give it a try. I imported an assembly drawing from MDT6 and started to make a couple modifications. No problems! Yippy! Then I have a client see all the cool finishes I can do and asks me to do a couple posters for the CES show.(due before Jan 1st) I'm not someone that typically does that, but I agreed... I had just a couple tweaks to do and now nothing will do what I want. I don't know what I'm doing in inventor (but have taken a class which I remember nothing)

Every file I touch in Inventor gives me the same message. across the top of the message box I get ...

"Autodesk Inventor (tm) - Occurrence Style"

The message inside the box shows an exclamation mark inside a yellow circle and ...

"Cannot modify the library file K:\......"

Please, I know I had to have somehow triggered a setting of some sort, but I'm at a total loss as to what. ... please...HELP!

in R6 library files cannot be modified.
Search the NG for solutions to this problem as it's been addressed numerous
times.

As noted by Sean, library parts by default cannot
be modified.  Here is a snip from a search for you since you are
pressed for time.

<make a new project where the libraries are referred to as workpaths or
move
the part out of the library and then back in after the
edit...>
