Can't dimension to swept feature

I'm having an issue where while in the .idw it allows me to select the quadrant of the swept feature but then it says it's not attached.

I don't ever remember not being able to place these types of dimensions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Keith,

I am using Inventor 2014 SP1 Update 1 and am not having an issue.

Are others in your organization having the same issue with this drawing?

Can you also send us the exact error message.

Thank you.

Hi Bob,

I'm on SP1 also.  Attached is a screen shot of the error message.

No one else has yet to do any swept features since we upgraded to 2014 a few weeks ago.

Keith,

Just to confirm,  You are getting this error message while placing a dimension?

I will private message you my test files.

Please try and place a dimension in the drawing and let me know if it works.

Thank you.

Yes.  I select the line of a non-swept feature, then select the quadrant of the swept feature, I drag to place the dimension and click to place it and then it gives me the error message.

A few other things I just noticed while verifying where the error message pops up::

1)  I can only select the quadrant AFTER I select the non-swept feature line first.  When I select the quadrant of the swept feature it shows me a yellow circle around the quadrant.

2)  When I opened the IDW again I was able to select the quadrant of the swept feature first and I did not recieve an error message when I placed the dimension, also when selecting the quadrant it gave me a green dot instead of a yellow circle.  The difference this time was the view was not fully updated yet, it still had the green corner brackets around the view.  As soon as they went away I could not replicate the non-errored message.

I recieved your message and attached a screen shot of the results.
