Can't Select anything but solid body in extrusion

Hi guys. Im sort of new at this, and I was creating a part and I tried to assign a material to it. It didn't work the way I wanted to and I found that my very first extrusion was not normal. I tried to edit it, but all I can pick is new solid. Does someone know what happened / is able to fix? I attatched the file. Thanks!

There are numerous problems with the way this geometry was created (starting with Sketch1 should have been a centerpoint rectangle fully constrained). 

 (use the Origin workplanes)

Sketch5 is sick.....

Pattern features, not sketch entities...

I recommend you go through these and then start over using what you learned from your first attempt.

Do you want to set the material for the whole part, or just change the color?

You don't remember how you changed Extrusion 1's appearance? Or did you get this part from someone else?

Don't cheat on your homework, do everything JD tells you and learn how to model correctly.

Right click "Extrusion 1" in the browser, go to "Properties" and under "Feature Appearance" set it to "As Body".
