COPY & PASTE A SKETCH SYMBOL MOVES TO BOTTOM CORNER

In a drawing when I copy a sketch symbol and paste it in a different location it moves to the very bottom left corner of the sheet. It doesnt do it with leader text. I am running inventor pro 2012. Has anybody else had this happen?

Running Pro 2012. I do not see this behavior. It functions normally. When I copy, then select past, it floats on my cursor, ready to be placed in position. Can you attach the IDW that shows this behavior you describe?

I'm having the same thing happen.

Hit Ctrl+V and it goes to the bottom corner. I didn't notice were there were going at first. I sent out drawings with revision lines in the corner.

this link might be related, are you seeing this with only existing symbols (created in an older version), or does it do it with symbols that you created in 2012?

I just tried it with a new symbol. Looks like it does the same thing.

I too have this problem using Inventor 2012.

In addition to this I have another problem when working with "sketched Symbols"  I have a small "Inspection bubble" that I paste next to all my dims.  I place one in a view and then copy and paste into the same view multiple times. By doing this it allows the "sketched symbol" to move with the view if I need to move the view.

Using inventor 2011 and earlier this would be my workflow;

1. Place sketched symbol in desired view
2. select symbol
3. right click >copy
4. Select new view
5. Right click on the view
6. Right click on the view a second time, this time the “Paste” option is there
7. Paste the sketched symbol as many times as needed.

How ever starting with Inventor 2012 and the new UI, there is no paste option and I am unable to perform a second right click.

PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED SCREEN SHOT.jmi screen shot.jpg

I have just started using 2012 and am encountering the same issue. Using symbols created in older versions.

Anyone know a fix to this yet?

It is a known issue already logged in our database. Development is actively working on a fix.

Thanks for reporting!

I am wondering

Surely when a new version comes out, everything is tested?

I just ask as I have the problem occuring, been on 200 drawings so far, and another 500 to go......

Productivity has taken a major nose dive
