Hi all,
Here is the process:
1)Create an assembly AB of two parts A and B.
2)Create a derived surf part AB_Surf of the AB.iam and add any feature to create something.
3)Create a View of AB_Surf in a DWG.
Unable to Hide/Show the derived AB.iam surf in the view.
working process:
1)Create an assembly AB of two parts A and B.
2)Create a derived Solid part AB_Solid of the AB.iam.
3)Create a derived surf part AB_Solid_Surf of the AB_Solid.ipt and add any feature to create something.
3)Create a View of AB_Solid_Surf in a DWG.
Everything works fine... Any idea?

Hi Mitch,
When you place the view in a dwg, it will consider all the solids.
In the 1st process of yours, if you want the derived part to be visible in your dwg, right click on the derived part in the browser of the drawing and click on "Include all surfaces". Your derived surfaces will be visible.

Thanks for your answer, "Include all surfaces" don't change anything in that case.
In the two processes, the derived surfaces are well included and visible in the drawing views. The problem is to hide them. I right click in the Browser pane under the view/part tree and uncheck "Visible", but nothing happens in the first case.
In the first process I insert an assembly, in the second, it's a part.

Hi! Have you tried the following?
Go to Drawing browser and find the part contains these surfaces -> expand the node -> find Surfaces Folder -> right-click on the Surface node -> uncheck Visible.
Does it not work for you?

to Hide/Show surfaces indrawing views. It works fine with a derived part to surface ;-)) but not with an assembly derived to surface ;-((

Hi! I have verified the problem on R2012 RTM. Indeed, the composite surface body visibility is not working properly. The issue has been addressed on the latest internal build, which will be available soon. That is why I was not able to see the problem initially when I replied to you.
