Hello all,
I on occasion run into it where I select bolted connection, run thru the start plane/holes/terminate plate (and follow pattern if applicable) and then select the fastener type only to have machine screws show up in the list. Wagon heads and slotted heads, ect. Usually in the top right of the pop up there is a drop down that you can select type of bolt required. In some cases it does not appear and only gives me the option to have these kind of bolts, when what I really want is a HH or SHCS (for example)...but apparently are unavailable?
Why is this, and is there a way to get these to show? Typically I use "by hole", if it makes a difference.
Tks!
Not sure what is happening here. A few screen shots would help immensely. Do you have the Diameter you want in these CC families?
FYI, 1 of the best things to do to make the BC Accelerator useful is to save (Add) your completed fastener sets to the Templates Library. Then it's just a simple matter of selecting the Placement options and then applying (Set) the Template to apply to it. Saves a lot of time and frustration.
Hi,
Sorry for the long delay. I have been out of the office a lot. Please see the attached picture.
Your last statment was telling. By selecting by hole the Bolted Connection looks a the hole size and feeds back what it has for those sizes. This is why you sometimes see what you do.
Brendens suggestion of creating the templates for the hardware and holes is a good answer to addressing your needs.
Hello Brendan,
Do you really use the Bolt Connection? I've wanted to but don't like how it makes sub-assemblies with dumb file numbers. Boltconnection1.asm
How do you handle that? I also see it makes new folders for each connection named Design Accelerator. It maybe just the way we structure our folders in Vault that makes it look so messy.
Just wanted your take on how you handle all this.
Thanks for some input.
