Bill of Materials - Parts and Assemblies merge under one part number

I am having trouble with balloons.  Multiple items have the same item number.

Somehow they have merged, and appear as a single item in the BOM and Parts List.

How can I un-merge them?  I just want each part and sub assembly to have their own item number.

At the moment in the BOM, both 'Structured' and 'Parts Only' have "Enable BOM view" checked.

When I created the drawing, everything was fine.  It only occurred when I re-opened the file.

I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I just don't know what that is.

I've attached an image which might help.

Thanks

Hi hagiographa,

This happens when the components (parts and/or assemblies) have the same part number. To resolve this you can either go to the Model Data tab of the BOM editor and edit the part numbers as needed to make them unique, or you can click the Part Number Row Merge Settings button and uncheck the Enabel Row Megre on Part Number Math box.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Hi Curtis,

Thanks, that did the trick.

I knew it would be something simple, but I just couldn't work out what setting and where to change it.

It would've taken me hours to find.   Smiley Happy
