Better Rendering Quality Inventor 2013

Hello

Im trying to render out pictures from Inventor but the quality is not what I espected

I have the maximum settings in the rendering window and also the maximum dpi (300)

The PC is good with an NVIDIA Quadro 2000 graphic card

Is this really the best Inventor can do or what do I need to do to get better quality?

I think inventor does not really do 300 dpi.

I encountered the same problem before.

As I worked for print media before I am

sure about it.

There should be an option do define size

and resolution seperately. That´s when a

dpi setting starts to make sense.

As I could not work out a direct solution

I took the files to Max or Showcase as I

have licences of those programs available

at work too.

The AA setting in Showcase is a great im-

provement already and it seems to output

pictures withe the right resolution too.

With Max you can virtually do everything.

Even though assigning and editing mate-

rials take some time, and lighting does too,

you can get photorealistic renders for any

purpose.

If you have a picture editor capable of using

layers you might enhance your image by

using overlays with different render styles.

I got some nice results by that.

Won´t be helping you with the resolution,

but it´s worth a try when it comes to looks

I guess.

Kind regards

Thankyou!

I have tried different resolutions settings but nothing really push up the quality.

The pictures will be used for print media

I dont like Studio Max at all....Not userfriendly at all for newbies like me! 🙂

I am strictly an mechanical enigeer and works alot with Inventor/CAD so I like to use any tools within Inventor.

If Studio Max is the olny way to get good pictures I guess I need to check it out!

Any other suggestions?

Hi Mustange69

You should be able to get a half decent screen capture by applying the materials for your part, set your view to realistic (Good setting works fine for me), let the screen render.

Then go to File> Export> Image> then adjust the options (bottom of screen) set x=0 y=0 to a larger size (say) x=4000 y=3000.

Hope this helps

Hello there,

you can easily calc the real dpi of a picture

and it´s size in print dependent on the dpi.

Might help you when you know the target size

of the image.

Kind regards

Dear mark.downes, goodnight.
Could you tell me how he can color the solder holding the "texture"?
It does this for any color? or is a special material that I personally think only for this kind of green?
Thank you very much!
