Beam and Column Calculator gives wrong values

Having trouble with the Beam and column calculator again.  I used the "I-Section" and entered the values.  At first I entered (b) as 8in and (B) as 8in and got the correct values. My section changed to (b)=6in and everything else stayed the same.  Inventor now reports the incorrect value for the area and moment of I.

Here is what I entered.

Manual calculations shows this should be 26.5in^2.... not 29.

TOTALY, NO confidence in the Beam and Column calculator at this point!!

You're welcome to a old spread sheet that I did up back in the hand calculation days.

Blair,

I have a speadsheet that does these calculations.  I was just double checking what I have against Inventor.  At least yours and my spreadsheets agree with each other...Smiley Happy

I checked what Inventor 2014 Beam and column calculator reports and it shows the correct values also.  Guess they already knew about this error and fixed it.

Have a great day!!!
