Baseline Dimensions/Adobe Reader

Two questions:
1) I'm trying to dimension the "rib" spacing for the attachment. I'm using the "FRONT" view and I need measurements from the far left end to the center of the first rib, then from the far left edge to the center of the second rib, et cetera. However, I can't seem to select the center of the ribs, only the left and right edges. Any suggestions?
2) On 3D Connexion's website, they have Adobe Reader 8 listed as a Space Navigator enabled program, but I can't seem to get mine to work with it. Is there some setting in Reader that you have change in order to enable it's use?

1) make a centerline on the first rib
2) i don't know. Mine works fine. The Space Navigator should pan/zoom. It used to rotate pages too, but when I upgraded a while back I lost that ability (a real shame too cause this was super handy)
