Balloon or Parts List freezes Inventor (Using View of LOD)

Inventor freezes whenever an attempt is made to balloon a particular drawing (or place a parts list). Views were placed of a specific Level of Detail. We don't get this behavior with a drawing which has views placed from the "master" (default) LOD. Any ideas what we could be experiencing? Is this a bug? Anyone else experiencing this? (We decided to try ballooning and leave it for the night. Eventually it came up, but we don't know how long it took. When we're watching it, we've waited for over 2 hours before killing it.)
