Automating parameters

Hello,

I am making a design on inventor 2013 for a collegue who does not know how to use the inventor.

I want to make the solid and then set something up that allows the user to change a few of the parameters of the solid in a very user friendly way (i.e. a box that says "cylinder radius" and has an input box so the user can enter a value).

Does anyone have any ideas of where I can start?

Thanks in advance,

Knattagh

drive your parameters with an excel spreadsheet, then you can add pictures, pretty boxes etc, see attached

iLogic will allow you to do this, also, though perhaps without the pictures and pretty boxes!  iLogic can also make sure that the entered paramaters are within proper ranges, if that's important.

iLogic, will most certainly allow for pretty pictures.

just use an excel spreadsheet to drive a master part so the only limit is your excel skills, in my case very poor, just inserting a picture

I don't have time to give step-by-step instructions for this right now.  I would recommend just going thru the iLogic tutorials and you should have enough information to do something similar to what I've shown above.

Ok but unfortunately I cannot find any tutorials on how to drive a master part with an excel spreadsheet. Can you refer me somewhere? Sorry I have been using inventor for a couple months.

Thanks

Hopefully this can get you started.  Youtube has lots of tutorials, usually less than 10 mins, if you can access it.

If you are still looking you should check out Tacton for Inventor.
