Autodesk please respond ref Design Assistant

When trying to copy ipt & idw files Design Assistant insists on renaming the files with newver in the filename. Do you recognise this problem ?

Mike,

This is a peer-to-peer group and although some
Autodesk employees drop by from time to time, there is nothing formal about it
and isn't a place to request answers from them. I think the way to make sure
Autodesk knows about a problem is through your VAR or the bug report thingy on
their site.

~Larry

Hmmm ... Peer-to-Peer ... does that mean Peer
talks to himself? Maybe not ... <G>

You are the first one I have ever read about here that has that problem. It sounds more
like something is amiss in your install possibly?

Don't worry, some of us know each other better than
people we actually work with.  Hang out long enough and it'll all begin to
make sense..<g>

I just had this happen to me.
But not in DA.

I tried to save a file file.iam, when IV crashed (again).
After the crash, There was a file file.newVer.iam there.

My guess is that the newVer-files is saved first, and renamed later, so the user dont acually sees them, except when IV crashes in the middle of this operation.

I have been hoping for sp2 to be good, but I have decided it is BAD. The jury is no longer out. SP2 is guilty of many problems. Off with his head, and wait for sp3 !!

Jorgen, are you nuts? sp2 is a wonderful service pack. IV6 is much better than IV5.3 now. You must have a bad set up on your computer.

P.S. The statement I made above is the opposite of the truth. I wish I could migrate back to 5.3, it was pretty dang solid.
