Autodesk Inventor Professional Serious problem

Hi,

First I wonder i there is a newsgroup for AIP?

Second I have a real problem.

I uninstalled Inventor Series 7. I did a reboot.

Then I installed Inventor Professional with the modules and MDT2004.

When I start a new part, draw a rectangle, extrude it, then i can use each
command in de tool panel. I can edit scetch and features. But then when I
save the ipt, after the save I can't do anything more.
I see the part,
I see the browser, everything looks ok.
But if i want to make a new scetch and i click a face, nothing happens. I
can't modify or add new features.
If I open an existing part or assembly the same problem.

I repaired the software, i unistalled it and installed it again, nothing
helps.

With Inventor 7 I did not have this problem.

Can anybody help me with this?

HPXW4000 2,8 XPP SP1 UK 1 Gb ram, 80Gb HD, Inventor 6 also installed.

Thanks in advance!

Are you saving the file to a location that is defined by a "library" search
path in your project file?

Wow, What a reactions on this,

Yes, you're all amateurs 🙂 - Lloyd-
Great Tube and Piping module!! I wonder why you don't already have it, Now I
can't make use of your website anymore 🙂 -Sean-

After 5,5 hours I have found the problem. I also have AMTW 2003 from Cyco on
my machine and i recieved an update called AMTW 2003b, which was updated for
Inventor 7, but I have AIP. Last monday I installed the update. Now I have
removed that update and everything works again. I already contacted Cyco
about this. Soon there will be also an update for AIP.

Thanks,

John van Eeten

There was an "undocumented" call which ended up being disabled in Pro.
I looked through the customization NG for details but didn't find it.
It is likely that you have another addin which was using this call and
that might be the source of your problem.

Just wondering why spend more money for IV Pro. ? What benefits you could
get from "Pro" comparing to "Armature"

Hey Charles, if Piping is an add-on (in code sense) then it would be possible to copy that over to IV7, right? And I mean this in a theoretical sense only.

Its supposed to be "arm chair". Its a new management tool to allow Dilbertesque managers to sit back and tell us how to design. They can remotely take control of our workstations, hose everything up then turn it back over to us.

I was actually thinking that it sounded like arm
chair too but I couldn't think of any witty way to use the phrase...but you

Why do you have such negative reactions about Pro?
Where is the pain? I don't get it.

The pain is in our pockets. People on subscription were promised one thing, then
autodesk turned around and did something else.

I doubt it, I think the R7 is a different build, kind of like a service
pack or maybe additional API functions.
