Excellent news, T-Splines is a quality bit of software.

I wonder how the Solidworks and Rhino plugins will fare now?

Apparently with this the TSplines store came down, this could mean a temporary or permanent end to the Rhino and SW plugins.  Autodesk did state that they are considering continuing the plugins for the competing products.

This goes a long way to show just how much Autodesk cares about getting technology relevant to users.  My biggest beef with the other product is it apparent inability to recognize the technology enough to acquire them to make sure they can help and control its advancement.  Relying on third party products too much is a double edged sword for most vendors, where the tech is great to supplement your software, but if it goes under...users can go somewhere else just because of that plugin is no longer offered.  Epic fail on Dassault's part in general, not just for this plugin.  They continue to show that SW should not get too close to Catia.

This should aid in the sufracing capabilities insdie Inventor rather than relying too much on Alias Design in the Product Suite or the looseness of Fusion.  Who knows where else this will end up?  Maya?  3ds max?  Good news all around.

As both TSplines and clamped spline mapping are rotten approach to the figure synthesis anyway (dispite they are good at the tangential continiuty problem itself) - well, I'm happy to know that certain non-Autodesk products will "fare" without TSplines.

With best wishes,
