AutoCAD export - Title Block Attribute Tags Renamed

I have an Inventor 2009 idw template that I have setup for export to AutoCAD. Once it's in AutoCAD format I have to run a script file from my customer that checked attributed fields in certain blocks in the AutoCAD file. In IV2008 the title block names were changed on export to adding "title blocks" to the beginning. Which I delt with. But now in IV2009 all the TAG names in each block are also renamed on export to adding "_001" to the end of each TAG name. Is there any way to keep the same naming on export to AutoCAD for blocks and sketch symbols so I don't have a write a bunch of script files for the AutoCAD file?

Hello,

As you know, Inventor allows name collision. But AutoCAD doesn't allow that
for blocks. That is why you sometimes see different names in AutoCAD dwg.
When you say TAG names, what objects were you talking about? Could you post
a simple data set?

You may uncheck the export mapping option "Convert Drawing Symbols to
Blocks" if you don't want the blocks.

Thanks,

In the AutoCAD attributed block you have a column for Tag, Prompt, and Value. The Tag column is the issue. What is funny since my first post is that this only happens when I open the file in an older version of ACAD i.e. 2008. If I open the same file on two different machines running ACAD 2009 the field is fine, but open it on a machine with 2008 it has the "_001". It's funny because a couple weeks ago when I was exporting from IV2008 I didn't have this problem. The whole point is to have as close as possible AutoCAD export so that these files can be sent to General Motors. Up until this issue I only had to change one block name in the exported ACAD to pass GM, PRIMS. It will work on our machines that run 2009, but my fear is someone at GM will run these again on an older version, and they'll see this issue with the Tag name. Thanks for your help!

Inventor does not add "_001" to the Tag during DWG translation. The Tag in
AutoCAD should be the same as the property name in Inventor unless there are
spaces in property name. We replace the space with "_" since AutoCAD Tag
can't allow space.

We only support single-line attribute in Inventor 2008. We started to
support both single-line and multiple-line attributes in Inventor 2009. But
there is no change made for Tag name. You should be able to open ACAD 2007
drawing fine in both ACAD 2008 & 2009.

Could you post or send me a simple idw and dwg file? I will test and see if
I can reproduce the problem.

How did you get rid of the "Title Block" from the title block name. When we export the .idw drawing to AutoCAD  .DWG the process adds the words "title block" to the title block name which is causing problems for the client who apparently uses the title block attribute name to sort documents in Vault.
