Can anyone advise me what is the best way to make art forms with inventor?

Thanks.

Using Fusion might be better to use for that. You can drag surfaces, edges to anything you want.

Your question is too vague.

Post screenshot or url of something typical that you would like to do.

Thanks for your response, Doug. Fusion is a part of inventor or is a stand alone program?.

Hi, Thank you for your interest.
Attached is a photo of what I'm preparing. It's a part of a lamp. The tool is inventor 2009 pro, and I find it very difficult to do so.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Antonio.

You just need more training or practice.. Thats simple stuff there.

What you are doing there I would not call art. Don't get me wrong, it looks great. On that scroll you don't need a closed profile to extrude. That's to hard. Just make a single scroll line-arc and then extrude as a surface. Then thicken your surface to make a solid. This way you have some more control with your form.

Yes, It's true. It's not art. I meant something like "art forms".
Your response sounds great, but.. I'm not quite understand. Could you explain it in a little more detail?
Thank you so much.

Antonio.

Hi! On Inventor R2012, you can create the sketch by using 2D Spline tool or using multiple arcs. On R2013, you can use 2D Control Point Spline tool for better shape control or Equation Driven Curve for precise shape control.

Thanks!

Attach here the ipt file of what you have been able to create so far (it doesn't have to be pretty art).

Should be no problem in 2009, but because most now use a later version it might be a little difficult communicating the correct techniques to use in 2009.
