Applying NEW templates to exisitng parts.

Is it possible to apply a new template .ipt & .iam (that has for instance custom fields), to an existing part / assembly?
Anyone help?

I think your best bet is to derive the new
templates.

Thanks, Ruif

Could you explain that a bit futher... what i want to do is apply the set up of the new template to existing parts and assembly files.

Use the design assistant and copy the properties to the files you want.
In windows explorer rmb on file with the properties you want to copy and
pick
design assistant. Once that has opened rmb on file and pick copy design
properties. Hope that is what you looking for.

Mark,

You may also want to explore Sean's iProp Wizard.

It is an app (easily accessed by a button that is automatically created on
the Standard toolbar) that allows "normal" or alias names for the hardcoded
iProperties presented in a list showing only the iProps you actually use. It
will also create Custom Properties (that can be defined within the setup of
iPropWizard) in parts/assemblies if they do not exist.

I see it is NOT listed on his new VBA page, but this link off his homepage
should get it for you.
