Adequate Hardware

If anyone knows about sufficient hardware for running Inventor Professional 2012 with frame and stress analysis, please tell me if the system I'm about to get is relatively fast. I work with 200MB-500MB assemblies with lots of structural steel members. I'm about to get:

  • Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Processor (12M Cache, 3.20 GHz)
  • NVIDIA Quadro 5000 Graphics Card
  • 32GB RAM

Hi,

as far we know you do not need to have expensive quadro (unless you dont mind to pay 3x more for the same performance)

would suggest SSD and the highest speed i7

Hi,

Unfortunately, we don't have a hardware recommendation based on the features inside Inventor.

However you could look at this article below on current hardware requirements for optimal performance of Inventor while working with large assemblies,

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Inventor/enu/2012/Help/0073-Autodesk73/0460-Assembli460/Work_with_Large...

Hope it helps.
