Adding notes to hole table

Hello,

Is it possible to add notes for each hole in a hole table?

I want to add for each hole in a hole table its true position value that I decided (instead of creating feature control frame for each hole).

Hi,

Could you please attach some sample file (part, assembly, or image) to better understand what exactly you want to obtain?

I want to add a custom column to a hole table in order to add some text to it.

Hi  sbachar,

Try these steps:

  1. Right-click on your Hole Table and choose Edit Hole Table.
  2. Then ensure the Formatting tab is active.
  3. Then click the Column Chooser button.
  4. Then click the New Property button.
  5. Click where it says <<Click Here to Add New Property>>.
  6. Enter "Notes" or something similar for the property/column name.
  7. Click the OK button in each dialog to return to the drawing sheet.
  8. Then double click in the Notes cell for each row ( on the dash) to bring up the text editor to change the notes.

Note: this edits just that hole table, you might want to do this for your Hole Table style as well if you intend to have a notes column in all of your hole tables going forward.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

You can scrub the Vert and Hor lines to place the Target Datum where you want it. Still keeps the parameters linked. Or add a sketch to the view with a point to attached to.

You can do what Curtis has offered, myself I would keep it "linked" and not add over-ridden values. It's to easy to overlook then manually added values should the model change is some way.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Hi  sbachar,

I agree with blair.

In my previous reply, I skipped the "why" of your question and answered just the "how". But in review, I think it would not be wise to add the information you mentioned as a note.

I hope this helps.
