3dxml

Does anyone know of a way around this?

I have several 3dxml files which I need to get into Autodesk Inventor Series 2011 (64-bit). I have trudged the internet and can not find anyway of converting them either with Inventor or Transmagic R8, which I also have. My design department has also opened the files into CATIA V5 but when trying to export as a STEP or IGES file comes up empty.

Do you know someone with SW that can open & try to save as SW files? Then try to open in Inventor?

Or have your design department send you the CATPart file from CATIA v5 and open that in Inventor.  If none of that works it could be tht the 3dxml file only contains a mesh, i.e. facets, and not a soldi model.

I hope this helps,
