2015-Find in Browser does not work

In an assembly, I right click > Find in Browser.

The tip tells me "Selected object could not be found in the Browser.  It may be filtered off."  Its not filtered off.  When I double-click to edit the part.  The part is not selected in the browser either.

Here's a video.

Close assembly and reopen and it now works correctly.  It did this on another assembly yesterday, but I just wrote it off.  Again today.....

I just tried with an assembly and i have no problems with "find in browser".
What type of parts are those? ilogic parts?
Maybe it has something to do with that... like a rule that still needs to run or something... ?

The parts that are here are a mixture of normal parts and iparts.  No ilogic rules.

I have not figured out why it does it.... maybe its a migration thing...i just dont know, but it has happened twice to me so far and I have only been using 2015 for two days.  To get by it this time, I was able to close and reopen the assembly.

One quick test would be to use the Task Scheduler and use the migration task and migrate all the assembly files. I would also recommend adding the Total Rebuild & Compact Model History options. Then see if you run into the issue.

Note: Since most iParts are included in a sepearate directory you will want to see that the iPart children (those in the sub folders are included).

We had the same issue with 2016... but figured it out.

On the model browser, select "filter" (next to Assembly View) then uncheck "Show Children Only".

Once this was unselected, we were able to successfully "find in browser" component patterned parts.

I had this issue yesterday.

The solution was to check the selection filter.

If it's set to 'body' then the ctrl+b (find in browser) will not work.

It will work if you switch your browser to 'modelling' though.

Inventor 2023 - I started getting same error message. Still, looking for a solution. Actually, I had a constraint error. so using Design Doctor, I used the isolate and edit option. after that only, I started getting the error message.
