Hey Guys,
Am I alone in HATING the new select other behavior? I used to be able to scroll till what I wanted was highlighted and then left click to select. Now I have to move the mouse over and hit the green checkmark. Here's a suggestion. It's a simple fix. Put the green checkmark on the left and the drop down on the right. Don't make me hit another target. I am getting used to the new marking menu. The only issue I am having is sometimes it seems that I have to left click and then right click a part to get the correct context sensitive marking menu to pop. On my machine it also pops a little slow but that is probably a graphics card deficiency. The marking menu seems to be pulled from the Crysis Nano Suit function selector (for any gamers out there) I love it there and I am sure I will remember all the different menus here soon.

Yes and one of the issue addressed is:
"When using Select Other with a mouse scroll wheel, some of the selection choices are skipped. "
I loath new Selection tool.
If you despise it, instead of writing here which Autodesk maynot read, COMPLAIN thru feedback/features request/contact us/etc. contact methods.
Let them know.
If one person complains NOTHING WILL BE FIXED.
New tool is a diaster, nonintuitive, productivity loss, NOT gain and no it's not b/c I am old, rusty and like old things, I am youngm new selection tool is is disgusting.
The new tool now behaves in exactly the same way as the old one with the added benefit of being able to select a drop down menu with a list of the named features. Which on occasion makes it better.
Just hover over the drop down list (like you did with the green square button before) and cycle through the options with the middle mouse button, once you have what you want selected click to confirm. How is that such a massive productivity hit when it worked that way before? In fact with the current system if you have a dozen objects it would be quicker to click the drop down and select the feature instead of cycling through it like you were forced to do in the last version.

The Select other tool in 2012 was usless in the RTM version of 2012 as none of the selections were transfered to things like the constrain selection boxes. It was fixed with SP1 and personally I dont have any issues with it now it works.
Have you installed SP1 ?
