0 kg density in user created material specification.

For years now I have been using a material I call "NO_MASS".

I created it to use as a core block with no mass/weight.

I manipulate it with a spread sheet and parts derived as surfaces from it alter sheet metal components.

I have just installed inv2014 product suite. It does not seem possible to get the material density lower than 0.001.

As you can imagine if the NO_MASS part or core is sufficiently large the calculated weight of the assembly

will be incorrect. In previous releases I had a density of 0.

Is this not possible now?

I have gone from inv2011 to inv 2014

It appears to be that way in Inventor 2013 as well.

Hi Matthew,

Thank you so much for reporting this problem. I am able to duplicate this issue with Inventor 2013 and 2014.

In 2012 version, Inventor allows to create a material with 0 density. I will forward this issue to developers for more investigation.

Thanks!

Is there a fix for this yet?

I too have need for a material I call weightless to add certain clearance diagrams to models without affecting to weight of my model.
