select material in libraty

I have my own library, Inteco Material Library, created with a material 'perforatie'.
Now I have a flat part and made a sketch with another rectangle.
I have used the Split tool so I create a separate area that I can select.
If I select that area and I go to my own library I can not select my own made material.
I have the material in the Inventor Material Library  installed but I can not select it.
Someone an idea.

Youre drawings are as good as the symbols that compleet them.....

If you are on IV2013, Material and Appearance have changed.

Material = Physical properties, density, yield, tensile and thermal properties.

Appearance is just that, you can have multiple appearances on an object but only one Material in a single part.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

As you can see in the screen shots I can assign two different materials to a part.
If I select anything I can see my own material in the pulldown menu of Materials.
But when I select a face I can not make the choice.
Should I get my own material under Appearance placed enabled to select?

I have made this tutorial: http://www.trainingtutorial.com/TAT38_Custom_Autodesk_Inventor_2013_Material_Library.htm

Materials apply only to an entire part, and they are the physical properties such as density and strength.  Appearances (formerly Colors) can apply to: entire part, face, feature, solid, etc.  Appearances are simply the way a given entity looks.  A material designates a default Appearance, but this can be overridden.

This is nothing new, just the names and storage locations have changed in 2013.
